Some points to consider ...
Curtain poles and tracks may seem like small details, but they can truly make or break the overall design of a room. At Amersham Interiors, we believe that the right choice not only enhances your window treatments but also complements your home's unique style, whether it’s contemporary, classic, or traditional.
With an overwhelming amount of options available, here’s a guide to help you navigate the different types of curtain poles and tracks:
1. Poles with Rings

Poles with rings are a popular option for a stylish and functional finish. Available in both metal and wood, these poles work well in a variety of settings:
Metal poles offer a sleek, modern look and can be bespoke-made to fit tricky spaces like bay windows. With precise measurements, these poles can be bent to fit curves, ensuring a perfect fit without compromising style. this look great in a black finish and can suit a contemporary or classic style. Our fitters will cut the pole to size on site to ensure it’s a perfect fit.
Wooden poles add warmth and a more traditional feel, but now, thanks to new innovations, they can also be custom-made to bend around bay windows. This makes them a great option for homeowners who want both function and elegance in their window treatments. Wooden poles can be sourced in a number of shades and colours, or even matched to your wall colour.
2. Tracked Poles
If you’re looking for an option that’s subtle yet effective, tracked poles are worth considering:
Metal tracked poles combine the functionality of a track with the decorative appearance of a pole. These offer the same sleek appearance as metal poles with rings but come with the added convenience of an integrated track, allowing curtains to glide smoothly. Silent Gliss do the best tracked poles on the market, they can be made to any size and come in a number of finished. they offer a great contemporary or classic look and look fabulous with wave or double pinch pleat curtains.
Wooden tracked poles offer a softer, more classic touch while still maintaining the smooth operation of a track. If you don’t like the clunky curtain rings this is a fantastic option and can be bent for bay windows.
3. Curtain Tracks
Tracks are a fantastic option when you want a more minimal look or when you need a cost-effective solution.
Curtain tracks are generally white, slim and can be wall or ceiling-mounted, blending seamlessly with your ceiling or neutral walls for a barely-there look. They can even be hidden behind a pelmet for a clean, streamlined finish.
Though often made of plastic, tracks can be durable and practical, especially in spaces where the focus is on functionality rather than aesthetics.
